Hello Dragon Families,
We hope you were able to attend last week’s Back to School Night. If you did not, feel free to reach out to your child’s teachers and connect with them.
I enjoyed meeting some of you last week at Pastries with the Principal. We discussed the bell schedule, dress code, electronic policies, and I answered all questions to the best of my ability. This will be a monthly meeting on the last Friday of each month…hope to see you at the next meeting.
This week we will conduct our first fire drill of the year. This will be on Wednesday during third period (approximately 10:00 - 11:00) so if you need to take your child out early at that time just know it could be a longer wait than normal if we are in the middle of the drill.
Our new website is up and running but also under construction. This is a great place to get information about upcoming events and news items. Here is a link to the website.
We need you to be a part of our School Site Council. This group gives suggestions and approval for spending money and activities we may bring to our students. We need five parents or community members to complete our council. If you are interested in running for one of our openings please email me directly or contact the office. We meet 4-5 times a year and my meetings are usually 30-45 minutes at most.
Our PTA membership drive is starting. For every membership your child brings in will equal one water balloon they can throw at a staff member. If you join, they get one balloon. If four memberships come in they get four balloons. PTA sponsors many events and activities for our students and staff. If you have any questions please contact Maria Mendoza, our family liaison.

Esperamos que haya podido asistir a la Noche de Regreso a Clases de la semana pasada. Si no lo hizo, no dude en comunicarse con los maestros de su hijo y conectarse con ellos.
Disfruté conocer a algunos de ustedes la semana pasada en Pastries con el director. Discutimos el horario de clases, el código de vestimenta, las políticas electrónicas y respondí todas las preguntas lo mejor que pude. Esta será una reunión mensual el último viernes de cada mes... espero verlos en la próxima reunión.
Esta semana realizaremos nuestro primer simulacro de incendio del año. Esto será el miércoles durante el tercer período (aproximadamente de 10:00 a. m. a 11:00 p. m.), por lo que si necesita sacar a su hijo temprano a esa hora, tenga en cuenta que podría ser una espera más larga de lo normal si estamos en medio del simulacro. .
Nuestro nuevo sitio web está en funcionamiento, pero también en construcción. Este es un gran lugar para obtener información sobre próximos eventos y noticias. Aquí hay un enlace al sitio web.
Necesitamos que usted sea parte de nuestro Consejo Escolar. Este grupo da sugerencias y aprobación para gastar dinero y actividades que podemos traer a nuestros estudiantes. Necesitamos cinco padres o miembros de la comunidad para completar nuestro consejo. Si está interesado en postularse para una de nuestras vacantes, envíeme un correo electrónico directamente o comuníquese con la oficina. Nos reunimos de 4 a 5 veces al año y mis reuniones suelen durar entre 30 y 45 minutos como máximo.
Nuestra campaña de membresía de la PTA está comenzando. Por cada membresía que traiga su hijo, equivaldrá a un globo de agua que pueden arrojar a un miembro del personal. Si te unes, obtienen un globo. Si ingresan cuatro membresías, obtienen cuatro globos. La PTA patrocina muchos eventos y actividades para nuestros estudiantes y personal.
