Hello Dragon Families,
Welcome to week three of school and this is a special one. This Thursday is Back to School Night. This is your chance to meet your child’s teachers, find out what they will be learning, and what are our expectations for the school year both academically and behaviorally. This is an adult event so students should not attend if possible. Thursday your child will bring their schedule home to you and we will have staff around supporting you in finding the classrooms. Back to School Night starts at 5:45…don’t be tardy!
That night we will also have our annual Title I parent information night at 5:00 in the MPR. Please come and here how we obtain funding for our programs. Spanish interpreters will be available.
If your child is going to be absent from school please notify us as soon as possible. Daily calls to families who have a student absent go out at 10:00 am each morning. If your child is tardy to school due to an appointment please send a not with them explaining why they are late. School starts at 8:00 and your child should be here by 7:45 to ensure they have time for breakfast and to get to class on time. Those who are chronically late will meet with an administrator and counselor to see what we can do to support your child.
iReady diagnostics start tomorrow. We will start with language arts this week and next week we will administer mathematics. Please get lots of rest and a healthy breakfast in the morning.

Bienvenidos a la tercera semana de clases y esta es especial. Este jueves es la Noche de Regreso a Clases. Esta es su oportunidad de conocer a los maestros de su hijo, averiguar qué aprenderán y cuáles son nuestras expectativas para el año escolar tanto académica como conductualmente. Este es un evento para adultos, por lo que los estudiantes no deben asistir si es posible. El jueves, su hijo le traerá su horario a casa y tendremos personal para ayudarlo a encontrar las aulas. La Noche de Regreso a Clases comienza a las 5:45… ¡no llegue tarde!
Esa noche también tendremos nuestra noche anual de información para padres de Título I a las 5:00 en el MPR. Por favor venga y aquí cómo obtenemos fondos para nuestros programas. Habrá intérpretes de español disponibles.
Si su hijo va a faltar a la escuela, avísenos lo antes posible. Las llamadas diarias a las familias que tienen un estudiante ausente salen a las 10:00 am cada mañana. Si su hijo llega tarde a la escuela debido a una cita, envíe un no con ellos explicando por qué llegó tarde. La escuela comienza a las 8:00 y su hijo debe estar aquí a las 7:45 para asegurarse de que tenga tiempo para desayunar y llegar a clase a tiempo. Aquellos que llegan tarde crónicamente se reunirán con un administrador y un consejero para ver qué podemos hacer para apoyar a su hijo.
Los diagnósticos de iReady comienzan mañana. Comenzaremos con artes del lenguaje esta semana y la próxima semana administraremos matemáticas. Descanse mucho y tome un desayuno saludable por la mañana.
