Raisin' Cane's Fundraiser

Hello Dragon Families,

Welcome to our first full week of school and a hurricane named Hilary.  School will be open and we will monitor conditions.

This week our Dragons will learn about the school expectations for behavior.  I will cover a few of the major ones with you.

Being On Time to School and Class

Students are expected to be in the classroom to be considered on time for class.  All students who arrive late without a valid excuse (doctor’s note, court, illness) will have lunch detention for that day.  Please consider dropping off your middle school student by 7:30 and drop off the elementary students after.  Our gates open at 7:30 so they will be watched.  This is very important so thank you for your cooperation and support.

Dress Code

Students are expected to wear closed toe shoes (no Crocs please).  All clothing should cover students appropriately and cannot have any drug, weapon, tobacco or alcohol pictures or words.  You may not know but the brand Cookies is a marijuana company.  We also ask that if the person on the shirt is violating dress code you may not wear that shirt either.

Profanity and Racial Slurs

We do not allow students to use profanity or any racial slurs of any kind.  Profanity will lead to removal from class, Alternative Learning Center (ALC), and suspension.  Racial slurs (including homophobic, transphobic, race, religion, etc) will result in an automatic out of school suspension.  We want all of our students to feel safe in our school and I am sure you feel the same way.

Checking Out a Student

If you need to pick up your child early for an appointment please come to the office with your picture ID.  Once you are here we will call for your student.  We do not call ahead and have them wait in the office.  We all want them in class as much as possible.  You may also want to know when they have PE.  It will take longer to get them from PE than other classes.

Tuesday is our first PTA restaurant fundraiser at Raisin’ Cane’s!  Join us all day and show the flyer to the person taking your order.  15% will come back to us.  Also, take a selfie with your Cane’s and be entered in a raffle for a free boxed combo!  Send the selfies to Mrs. Pitard  lpitard@eusd.org

And speaking of PTA, please consider joining. We are almost to 130 memberships and hope to reach a goal of 175. Memberships are only $10. Envelopes are available in the office.

Well, that is all for now.  Stay safe Dragons!
