We are proud to offer a full-day Transitional Kindergarten program, which provides a bridge between preschool and kindergarten in a vibrant, nurturing, and supportive environment.
This play-based program meets the needs of our very young students at their level, and it makes them excited about coming to school.
TK serves children who do not meet the age eligibility for regular Kindergarten. With TK, 4-year-olds get a gift of classroom time that will help them build a strong foundation for success in school. TK students also are eligible to participate in EUSD’s after-school enrichment programs.
Save a seat for your little learner now through the New Student Registration webpage! TK is offered at all 17 elementary schools in EUSD. Students who turn 5 between September 2, 2023, and June 2, 2024, are eligible for TK for the 2023-2024 school year.

Dear Guardians, Please follow safety guidelines at drop-off and pick-up times and remind your students to abide by school rules and stay inside the gates until they see a responsible adult to pick them up. If you are driving through the pick-up line at the front of the school, please do not park your car, and stay inside your vehicles. Students need to wait inside the gates in their grade level lines until they see you. If you are picking up younger students on Broadway, please follow safety rules. NO U-turns, please. DO NOT park in the white loading zones. Cross at the crosswalks. Thank you for being patient. The safety of your children is our priority.

EUSD is offering Spring Break Legends Camp, a four-day experience from Monday, April 3, through Thursday, April 6. The program is operated by the YMCA, and is open to students in Transitional Kindergarten through 5th grade at no cost. Camp hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at two locations, Central Elementary and Farr Avenue Elementary. View the attached flyer for more information, including a QR code to complete the interest form. An interest form is required for your child to be considered for the camp. Students will be assigned a campus based on their school of attendance. Bus transportation to camp will be available from several locations throughout the district, or families may drop off and pick up their students. The no-cost experience includes engaging camp activities, a field trip to SeaWorld, and breakfast, lunch, and supper. Priority enrollment will go to students who qualify as socio-economically disadvantaged. Space is limited to 400 students. A lottery will be conducted if there is more interest than available spots.

Many lost and found items have been displayed in the multipurpose room. If your child is missing an item of clothing (shoes, shirts, jackets, hats, gloves), please check in at the office, then proceed to the multipurpose room to see what has not been claimed. Any unclaimed items will be donated to charity next Friday, February 24.
Please be patient at drop off and pick up on Broadway for the next several weeks as there is ongoing city construction on that street. Thank you.

Friday, January 13, is a minimum day for students. Students will be dismissed at 12:20 p.m. Monday, January 16, is a non-school day in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Students return to school on Tuesday, January 17.
Don't let the rain keep you from returning to school tomorrow, January 10, 2023! Teachers have been working hard to create engaging activities and lessons to start the new year off with lots of learning and smiles.
At-home COVID test kits for students will be sent home with your student on Tuesday, December 20 or Wednesday, December 21. You will receive either of the boxes pictured, not both. The goal for providing these tests is to promote student health without COVID-19 when they return to school after the holiday break. Please plan to administer the COVID-19 test on January 9, prior to your student's return to school, and notify your school site if your student tests positive. This at-home testing program is strictly voluntary and is not required to return to school on Tuesday, January 10. Instructions for administering the test are included in both English and Spanish inside the test kit.

Join us for a special READING NIGHT on December 14 from 6-6:30 p.m. via Zoom. The first 100 students to return the flyer being sent home this week will receive a surprise gift.
This Friday, November 18, is a minimum day for students. Dismissal is at 12:20 p.m. Enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday break from Monday, November 21 through Friday, November 25. School will resume on Monday, November 28.
Central School's Chuck E. Cheese Fundraiser is Friday, November 11 from 3-9 p.m. at 1126 W. Valley Pkwy. Come join the food and fun and the school earns 20% of the night's income. We'll see you there!
Students and teachers at Central School know how to enjoy a parade! We enjoyed seeing all of the creative costumes during our annual Halloween parade. Stay safe if you will be trick-or-treating in the evening!
